Marvin Bloos, a senior member of
Beresh Cunningham Aloneissi O'Neill Hurley,
restricts his practice to criminal appeals and related matters, professional disciplinary
appeals and Charter-of- Rights litigation. He also provides specialized research
and consulting services in relation to proposed or on-going criminal appeals or criminal
law or Charter related trial matters.
Marvin is a graduate of Queens University and the University of Alberta and has practiced Criminal law for over 28
years. He enjoys a strong reputation as appellate counsel and has appeared hundreds of times as counsel
in the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Courts of Appeal of Alberta, British Columbia, Nunavut,
and Saskatchewan, the Federal Court of Canada, and the Courts of Queen's Bench of Alberta and Saskatchewan.
A member of the Law Societies of Alberta and Saskatchewan, he is a founding member and past Chair of
the Canadian Council of Criminal Defence Lawyers as well as being a past president of the Alberta Criminal
Trial Lawyers Association.
